PYMIG 6/27/22 Update

The City canceled the in-person PYMIG meeting scheduled for June 27, 2022. In place of the in-person meeting, the City posted a 16-minute video to update construction progress at the Metrorail station, North entry pavilion and South entry pavilion. The video and slides are available here. Much of the significant exterior work on the new Metrorail Station has been completed (see photo below).

Retaining Wall. The concrete retaining wall along the east side of the Metrorail station is mainly complete. PYC has left a gap in the wall near the mid-point to allow construction equipment to access the area between the retaining wall and the Metrorail station (slides 4-7).

Headhouse/Mezzanine and Platforms. PYC has installed the roof and has begun to install the glass side walls. Interior construction is ongoing and includes electrical and flooring work (slides 8-14).

Pedestrian Bridges. The support structure of the pedestrian bridges from the Headhouse to the Knuckle, Knuckle to the South pavilion, and Knuckle to the North pavilion is complete. PYC is now installing the roof and decking for the bridges (slides 18-20).

North and South Pavilions. You can find pavilion construction photos on slides 21-23.

The near-term construction schedule (May through September 2022) is shown on slide 26. The PYMIG will be on hiatus in July. The City has scheduled the next PYMIG meeting for August 29, 2022.
