The following is an update from our neighborhood’s PYMIG liaison, Steve Crime: “I received a phone call from the WMATA project manager at 4:20pm this afternoon [7/17] telling me that the fence contractor had begun installation of the fence at the north end of our community. Although the permit for the fence has been issued by the City of Alexandria, the project manager was unaware it would happen this quickly. As you arrive home this afternoon, you will notice the chain link fence posts have been erected but the actual fencing has not yet been installed. The project manager told me the chain link will be installed in the next day or two.
There will be a large entrance gate to the fenced area where Potomac Greens Drive meets Carpenter Road, in front of the gazebo in the park. That gate will remain open so that our residents can continue to access the park and wetlands area for the next 2-4 weeks. As they previously promised, the playground in the north park will remain outside of the fenced area. More information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.”
