The City’s Potomac Yard Metrorail Station Construction website, here, was updated late yesterday afternoon in response to an October 9 request made to City Staff by our neighborhood’s PYMIG liaison, Steve Crime. Among the updates, it notes the start date for demolishing the Potomac Greens traffic circle is October 21, 2019. The start date for the demolition was confirmed by the WMATA Project Manager, Fred Robertson, in a separate email to Steve yesterday evening. Demolition is anticipated to take two weeks to complete. From earlier discussions with City staff, we can expect that construction of the pocket park will begin 2-3 weeks after demolition is complete. In the interim, temporary barriers will be used to protect the three homes that face south on Potomac Greens Drive.
