After much consideration, the Board has decided that the “Save the Circle” signs should be removed from the common areas around our neighborhood, particularly the traffic circle. The Board’s president, Ron Lafond, has provided the following elaboration on the Board’s decision: “Per Article III, Section 3(c) of the PGHOA Amended and Restated Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs), the Board of Directors has duties and obligations related to managing the Common Areas of the Association and enforcing compliance with the Association’s governing documents. Article IV, Section 2 of the CC&Rs states that ‘No Owner shall cause or permit any … signs … to be placed on the Common Areas.’ Additionally, Article III Section 3(c) and Article VI, Section 2, Paragraphs (m), (p), and (s) give the Board the authority to regulate signage on the property. Specifically, Article VI, Section 2(p) states that ‘From time to time the Board of Directors shall adopt additional general rules, including, but not limited to, Rules to regulate potential problems relating to the use of the Property … such as signage ….’

Given the above, the Board has ruled that it will no longer permit any signs in any of the common areas, including the traffic circle, the clubhouse, and Rose Square, except for real estate open house signs, on weekends only, and signs advertising upcoming Board of Directors meetings, PGHOA annual meetings, Potomac Yard Metrorail Implementation Group meetings, or other events regarding Association business that the Board deems appropriate. In the latter case, these signs will be posted for no more than three days before the event and removed by the end of the following day.

All signs currently posted on the traffic circle should be removed by Sunday, October 7, or the Board will remove them. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.”
