Results of Restricted Parking Survey

Dear PG neighbors–

The results of the City’s survey on whether to establish a RPPD in Potomac Greens are as follows: 155 survey ballots were returned for a 68% response rate, and 147 of them (95%) voted in favor of establishing an RPPD. Of those 147 survey ballots, 130 ballots (88%) favored an RPPD enforcement timeframe of 8 AM-11 PM Monday-Saturday, and 17 ballots (12%) favored allowing individual blocks to determine their timeframes.

These results surpass the City ordinance requirement that at least 50% of the survey ballots be returned, and 60% of the returned survey ballots must favor the creation of the RPPD. (For Potomac Greens, a 50% return rate equates to 114 responses from our 227 homes.)

The next step in the RPPD process is for City Staff to submit the survey results to the Traffic & Parking Board for review. The Traffic & Parking Board will make a recommendation to City Council for a final decision on creating the new RPPD.

All the best–
