Dear PG Neighbors—
As we told our residents on May 19, the City Staff informed the Board of Directors that 7 of the 18 blocks in Potomac Greens did not have sufficient participation in meeting the requirement to install signage for the proposed parking restrictions of 8am-11pm, Monday-Saturday. City Staff told us that blocks that had not met the criteria could use a petition process to advocate for restrictions on these blocks.
A resident of each of the 7 blocks volunteered to act as a block captain and seek signatures from other residents of the block using a City-provided petition. Their efforts were successful, and City Staff now says all 18 blocks have met the criteria for signage.
However, the City Staff have also informed us that they are considering recommending the hours of 8am-5pm to the Traffic and Parking Management Board instead of the timeframes presented in the survey/ballot. Members of the City Staff directly involved in these matters have agreed to virtually participate in our PG Board of Directors meeting on June 23, 2022, to answer questions and address concerns of residents. You can attend this Board Meeting in person at the Clubhouse or virtually via Microsoft Teams to voice your questions and concerns about their proposed course of action.
