Dear Potomac Greens Residents,

The Potomac Greens Homeowners Association owns and maintains the paved alleys behind our homes.  An earlier Board repaved 6 of the 7 alleys south of Rose Square in 2016.  The time has come to repave the remaining alleys highlighted in blue in the photo below. The Board solicited bids from several contractors to repave the remaining alleys and selected the proposal offered by Pro-Pave Incorporated.

Pro-Pave says the work will take two days to complete and has scheduled the work for August 27 & 28, 2024 (weather permitting). The alleys in blue will be closed to all traffic during that time, and residents must remove any vehicles or other obstacles (like trash cans, basketball hoops, etc) before the work begins. We urge residents to relocate their cars from their garage and park on the city streets to have access to their vehicles during the scheduled repaving.  Since the work will occur on Tuesday and Wednesday, trash collection will not be affected. However, the Postal Service (USPS) will be unable to access the blue alleys, and the USPS will suspend postal deliveries for the blue alleys until work is complete. Please plan accordingly.

Pro-Pave will install signage a week before the repaving to remind our residents of the upcoming work. Pro-Pave does not anticipate any splatter on garage doors but said dust will be generated when the current paving is milled off on the first day.

We will update this information as we approach August 27th.  Should the weather preclude starting on August 27th, it will be rescheduled for a later date.
